CV-19 Update from the KMCC Committee

02 Apr 2020

Club Statement

Dear Member,

In light of the global CV-19 pandemic, the Committee wishes to clarify the latest developments, and implications for cricket at Kirby Muxloe CC by writing to all members throughout the club.

The ECB has made the initial decision to suspend all recreational cricket with immediate effect, which extends to indoor and outdoor training, pre-season friendlies and any other associated cricket activity.

Following this, at a recent League AGM on the 26th March, it has since concluded that the first half of the season will now be cancelled and that initial fixtures won’t start until Saturday 4th July. Further discussion on promotion and relegation in 2020 will be continued at our next meeting on 16th April. Junior cricket is similarly also affected at this time.

As a committee we fully support this decision and kindly ask that all members of Kirby Muxloe Cricket Club play their part in supporting the safety and wellbeing of our local community through social-distancing measures.

We will of course keep members informed of any developments as they progress. However, in the meantime, take care of yourselves and those in your immediate families.

We look forward to working together and look forward to your full support as we look to resume with cricket as and when it is deemed safe to do so.

Yours Sincerely,

Matt Kinsey

Club Chairman
